Course Overview

HR-218 / LEOSA Qualification

• Firearm safety and federal LEOSA requirements
• 50-round DCJS course of fire
• Live-fire qualification — 70% minimum passing score
• Photo qualification card issued upon successful completion

NYS 8-Hour Annual Firearms Training

• Firearm safety and Use of Force review
• 10-question written examination — 70% minimum passing score
• 50-round firearms qualification — 70% minimum passing score

Armed Security Guards must qualify with the firearm(s) they carry while on duty.

What to Bring

• Driver’s License
• Current NYS Armed Security Guard Registration
• Retired Law Enforcement Identification Card
• Pistol License
• Duty firearm, magazines and holster
• 50 rounds of ammunition
