HR-218 / LEOSA FIREARMS QUALIFICATION

Safety Quest Ltd. offers HR-218 / LEOSA firearms qualification for active and retired law enforcement officers on Long Island and in New York City.

The Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA), also known as HR-218, allows qualified active and retired law enforcement officers to carry a concealed firearm across state lines, subject to federal requirements and certain restrictions.

Eligible retired officers must carry appropriate law enforcement identification and maintain the required annual firearms qualification.

DETAILS

COURSE OVERVIEW

The course takes approximately 2½ hours and includes:

Firearm safety review
Review of HR-218 / LEOSA requirements
50-round DCJS course of fire
Live-fire qualification — 70% minimum passing score

Upon successful qualification, retired officers receive a photo HR-218 Qualification Card.

When carrying under HR-218, qualified retired officers must carry their law enforcement identification and current firearms qualification documentation required under LEOSA.

Retired Law Enforcement Identification Card
Driver’s License
Pistol License, if applicable
Firearm — revolver or semi-automatic
Magazines or speed loaders
Holster
50 rounds of ammunition

SAVE $25 WITH COMBO REGISTRATION

NYS Armed Security Guards who also need their 8-Hour Annual Firearms Training may combine both courses and save $25 compared with registering separately.

Long Island Combo — $150
NYC Combo — $200
