This course combines HR-218 Qualification ($75) with the N.Y.S. Security Guard Annual Firearms ($100) course for a discounted price OF $150.

The Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA), also known as H.R. 218, is a federal law (18 U.S.C. §§ 926B & 926C) enacted in 2004. The law allows qualified active and retired law enforcement officers to carry concealed firearms across state lines, overriding most state and local firearm restrictions.

To carry under LEOSA, individuals must possess valid law enforcement identification, and retired officers must complete an annual firearms qualification.
All participants are REQUIRED to bring their Retired Police ID card, Pistol License, Weapon of Choice, Magazines, Holster and 50 rounds of Ammunition.

8 Hour Annual Firearms Training Course for Armed Security Guards
This course must also be completed each calendar year you hold an armed security guard registration. Your registration is issued for two years; therefore, you must complete two 8 Hour Annual Firearms training courses within your registration effective and expiration dates to be eligible for renewal. General Business Law § 89-n(1)(e).
All individuals who take this course are required to qualify with a minimum of seventy percent (70%) on a fifty round shooting course (minimum passing is 35 rounds within the designated target area). All participants after listening to the “Use of Force” lecture and review will take a ten question test with a minimum passing grade of seventy percent (70%).

Remember, N.Y.S. ARMED SECURITY requires you to qualify with the weapon or weapons that you carry while on duty as a guard.

All participants must bring their current N.Y.S. Security License and pistol permit when they come to class.
