COURSE DESCRIPTION

The 16-Hour On-the-Job Training Course is required for NYS Security Guards and must be completed within 90 days of employment as a security guard.

This course builds upon the material covered in the 8-Hour Pre-Assignment Training Course and provides additional knowledge and practical information needed to perform the duties and responsibilities of a security guard.

Qualifying retired law enforcement officers may be exempt from this training requirement.

COURSE SCHEDULE

This is a two-day, 16-hour course.

Participants must attend both days and complete the full 16 hours of training to receive a Course Completion Certificate.

WHAT TO BRING

Please bring:

• Valid Government-Issued Photo ID
• NYS Security Guard Registration Card, if already issued
• Pen and notebook for taking notes

COURSE COMPLETION

Upon successful completion of the required training, participants receive a 16-Hour On-the-Job Training Course Completion Certificate.

MINIMUM ENROLLMENT & DEPOSIT

A minimum of 3 participants is required for the course to be held.

A non-refundable deposit is required at registration to reserve your seat. The remaining balance is due on or before the first day of class.

If fewer than 3 participants are registered, the class will be rescheduled and your registration and deposit will be automatically transferred to the following month’s course.
